Accessing Digital Banking via web browser

The new digital banking system has separate web sites for personal banking and business banking. You'll be able to access the new system with updated Digital Banking buttons on our home page.

Accessing Digital Banking via mobile app

The new Digital Banking system has separate mobile apps for personal banking and business banking. Before you sign into the new digital banking mobile app after conversion, we encourage you to make sure your mobile app is updated to the newest version.

  • If you currently use our Fortress mobile app and will continue to use the personal banking app, your current app will automatically be updated to the newest version if you have automatic updates enabled on your mobile phone.
  • If you currently use our Fortress mobile app and will continue to use the personal banking app but do not have automatic updates enabled on your mobile phone, you will have to go to the app store on your mobile phone, search for the Fortress Bank app, and select update from the app store.
  • If you will be using the new Fortress business banking mobile app, you will have to go to the app store on your mobile phone, search for the Fortress Bank Business app, and download the app from the app store.

Personal or Business Banking - which should I use?

On the afternoon of Monday, November 7th, Fortress will email all online banking users converted to the new Digital Banking system. The message you receive will let you know if you have been converted to personal banking, business banking, or possibly both. It will also provide information about the sign-in credentials you should use to get into either or both systems.

Usernames

In most cases usernames will NOT change. However, please review this section carefully. If your username changes you might not be able to sign into the new digital banking system after conversion. To prevent this, follow these instructions to create an alternate login name now.

  • Usernames will change ONLY IF they contain:
    • Less than six characters - must be at least six characters long
    • More than twenty characters - must be no more than twenty characters long
    • Spaces or special characters - must contain only alphanumeric characters
      • Spaces and special characters will be deleted from usernames during conversion - if your username contains spaces or special characters you may not be able to sign into the new digital banking system after conversion
      • Follow these instructions to create an alternate login name now to eliminate spaces or special characters from your username.

First Time Login

The first time you login to the new system, you might have the opportunity to change your username and you may be required to change your password. What you see will depend on two things. First, which new system are you logging into, personal or business? Second, what old system credentials are you using, web banking or mobile? Here is a summary of each possible scenario:

  • New Personal banking with old web credentials
    • You can keep your existing username (it must be valid as described under Usernames above), or create a new username.
    • You must change your password
  • New Personal banking with old mobile credentials
    • You keep your existing username and password. No changes are necessary.
  • New Business banking with old web credentials or old mobile credentials
    • You keep your existing username (it must be valid as described under Usernames above).
    • A temporary password will be provided and must be changed on your first login.

Password Requirements

  • Passwords must contain the following:
    • At least 8 and no more than 16 characters.
    • At least one uppercase character.
    • At least one lowercase character.
    • At least one number.
    • At least one special character from this list:  ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) ?

Notifications and Alerts

Notifications and alerts from the current online and mobile banking system will NOT be converted because the new digital banking system contains far more alert capabilities. You'll want to set up new account and security alerts as soon as possible after logging in for the first time.

eStatements

If you opted into electronic statements in our current online banking system, your opt-in and the eStatement email address will be converted into the new digital banking system. If you haven't opted into electronic statements yet, the new digital banking system makes it very easy.
