Toward that goal and in accordance with the most recent guidance from local, state, and federal government officials, Fortress Bank is announcing limited access to our Banking Center facilities in Davenport, IA, Carthage, Hamilton, La Harpe, Monmouth and Macomb, IL.. These locations will conduct business primarily through our drive-up windows, which remain open during normal business hours. All other banking centers remain fully open to serve you. June 5th, 2020

Effective Monday June 8th all Fortress Bank lobbies will reopen to the public. To ensure the safety of our customers and staff we have put the following guidelines and operating procedures in place:

  • We will observe social distancing guidelines throughout our facilities, with masks available for clients as needed, and proper PPE where feasible.
  • Plexiglass shields are in place at the teller lines. While behind the plexiglas, masks are optional for our tellers. If tellers need to interact with clients in front of the shield for any reason, they will put on a mask.
  • All team members are recommended to wear a mask if engaging within 6 ft. of customers or staff members.
  • One-way paths have been established for customers, where possible, to encourage social distancing. In offices that are too small to accommodate this, we will do our best to observe a 6 ft. social distance.
  • To further encourage social distancing, lobby chairs have been spaced to observe 6ft. of social distance.
  • Staff will wash hands frequently and we invite customers to use Sanitation stations in each lobby to do the same.
  • Workstations and surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected after every client interaction.
We are so pleased to invite everyone back into our lobbies and facilities and we're looking forward to serving you soon, in person.

As of April 16, the $349 billion allocated for the SBA Paycheck Protection Program has been fully exhausted. If you currently have an application in process this does not mean your loan will be denied.

Applicants that have been approved by the SBA can expect to hear from a Fortress Bank commercial banker soon regarding their loan closings. In the meantime, we are continuing to process applications we received with the hope that Congress will provide additional funding for the PPP program.

Please contact your Fortress Bank relationship manager if you have questions or need additional assistance or visit our Payroll Protection Program web page.

April 3rd, 2020

Dear Customers and Friends,

We are happy to report that last evening (April 2, 2020) the Small Business Administration released the Interim Final Rule on the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”). As promised, Fortress Bank has been actively monitoring the developments around this program to help serve you and answer your questions in this difficult and complex financial time.

We are happy to announce that with the announcement of the Final Rule, Fortress Bank will begin accepting PPP applications today, April 3. Please visit our Payroll Protection Program web page for instructions and links on how to apply. Additionally, please read and review the information carefully, as we are expecting a large volume of applications for the PPP and your complete and accurate submission will help us expedite your application.

While we welcome all businesses that have been affected to apply for a PPP loan through Fortress Bank, due to the high demand that is expected, we will be prioritizing our existing bank customer applications. We are working to quickly scale key aspects within the bank and are confident that we will have the ability to process new customer applications as well.

As always, we highly recommend that you contact your Relationship Manager or other Fortress Bank staff directly with any questions. We thank you for your loyalty, trust, and confidence in Fortress during this time and look forward to serving you!

Again information, guidelines, application, and other related sources, are on our Payroll Protection Program web page.

April 1st, 2020

Dear Customers and Friends,

In the days since the announcement of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), we have fielded countless questions regarding the available assistance for small and mid-size businesses.

This is a highly fluid situation, as we continue to learn more about these programs and available relief daily. In many cases, the details of the CARES Act and its available relief programs are still being written and finalized by the US Treasury Department and key legislative bodies. Yesterday afternoon we got more clarity on one such program, the Paycheck Protection Program, or PPP.

  • Click here and scroll down to “Assistance for Small Businesses” for key information released today about this program.

  • Click here to review the Senate Business Owner’s Guide to the CARES Act put out by the US Senate Committee.

If you are considering the PPP program, Fortress is an approved SBA lender. While we can’t take any action today (applications cannot be submitted until April 3rd), we would encourage anyone who is planning to apply for a PPP loan to review the information and loan application and begin preparation of materials (namely documentation of each payroll for the last 12 months).

We are working diligently every day to uncover more information as it becomes available. Additionally, we continue to try to support our customers and community by granting loan flexibility, leniency, and additional capital where applicable and necessary. We appreciate your patience as we continue to learn more about these programs and will provide updates as they are available.

In these difficult times, we remain committed to our core values of Trust, Innovation, and Expertise and will work diligently to help in any way we can.

Thank you for your support, confidence, and loyalty!
