Full-Time Customer Service Representative - Carthage, IL

As a CSR at Fortress Bank you will spend your time interacting with customers, focused on providing superior customer service through interactions not transactions.  You will engage customers in conversations and educate them on how you or your team can help them.

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging customers in interactions, listening to them and their needs, and proactively helping them understand our products & services that meet their needs
  • Asking the right questions and interacting with our clients to build relationships
  • Working with other team members who can assist the customer in other capacities
  • Understanding and abiding by policies, procedures, and regulations to minimize risk
  • Accurately and efficiently processing (potentially complex) transactions utilizing multiple systems, all while providing excellent customer service
  • Maintaining a cash drawer, including cash handling and daily balancing
  • Regular Saturday coverage

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience interacting with people, demonstrated through work experience, military experience, or educational experience
  • Excellence in customer service and professionalism
  • Comfortability working with teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cash handling experience
  • Ability to understand and master ever-evolving technology and being able to educate and assist customers with that technology
  • Highly motivated to meet and exceed set goals
  • Ability to identify potential fraud/risky activity and take appropriate action to prevent loss
  • Well organized and able to prioritize in a fast paced, interruptive environment
  • Confidence to exercise judgement balanced with knowing when to seek assistance
  • Reasonable flexibility with tasks, scheduling, and all other duties as assigned

Expectations

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Availability to work during scheduled time, especially until close and most Saturdays
