Digital Banking Security Enhancement

At Fortress Bank, we are deeply committed to safeguarding our customers’ information through robust security practices, advanced technologies, and a culture of continuous vigilance.  To this end we are upgrading our digital banking platform on June 4th, 2025. This upgrade will further enhance password security for our customers. Here’s what you need to know.

What we’re doing

Enhancing encryption on all digital banking passwords.

Why?

To decrease the likelihood of digital banking passwords being compromised.

When?

Passwords must be enhanced before Wednesday, June 4th, 2025. All accounts with unenhanced passwords will be locked as of June 4th.

What should i do?

To enhance your digital banking password and prevent your account from being locked, sign into your digital banking account, via web or mobile, before June 4th. Doing so will automatically enhance your password.

As long as you sign-in before June 4th, you do NOT need to change your password. The enhanced security will be applied to your existing password.

if you use biometrics…

If you use Face ID or Touch ID to sign into your mobile banking app, we recommend you:

Disable biometrics in your banking app settings.

Sign out of your digital banking app.

Sign into your banking app with your username and password.

Re-enable biometrics, if you wish, in your banking app settings.

These steps will associate your new enhanced password with your device.

    if you use a web browser…

    If you use a web browser to sign into mobile banking you must use your current username and password. Doing so automatically enhances your password.

    If you enhance your password via web browser sign in AND you already have biometrics enabled on your mobile app you will also need to follow the Biometrics instructions above AFTER your web browser sign in. Doing so will associate your new enhanced password with your mobile banking device.

      WHAT IF MY ACCOUNT GETS LOCKED ON JUNE 4TH?

      The steps to unlock your account depend on whether you use digital banking for consumers, or digital banking for business.

      Consumer digital banking users:

      Click the Forgot Username or Password link on the sign-in screen. Then follow the instructions to reset your password. This will generate an enhanced password and unlock your account.

      You can also call the Fortress digital banking team at (866) 717-1955 or call your local branch for help.

      Business digital banking users:

      Call the Fortress digital banking team at (866) 717-1955 or call your local branch. They will unlock your account and trigger a password reset for you. This will generate an enhanced password.

          We strongly encourage you to sign into digital banking, following the instructions above, as soon as you can – and no later than June 3rd, 2025. This will ensure your password is enhanced as soon as possible and avoid the inconvenience associated with unlocking a locked account.
