A message about the Crowdstrike incident
Good morning,
As you know, there is a global computer outage that began in the early hours affecting airports, banks and other businesses. The source of the outage is due to a software update issued by a cybersecurity firm called CrowdStrike.
Fortress Bank does not use Crowdstrike so none of our systems have been impacted directly. However, many of our vendors have been impacted which in turn impacts our ability to access their systems.
Teams are working diligently to bring affected systems back online.
To be sure, this is not a cybersecurity incident, according to the CEO of CrowdStrike, “This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed.”
